Tasting Notes: The Etna Rosso Musmeci jumps from the glass with bright notes of violets, purple fruit, and roast nuts over a wood fire. While ripe on the palate, the well-placed acidity balances and adds a freshness, while working to keep the finish long and interesting, with earthy notes of wild herbs and ripe berries.
Estate History: The Tenuta di Fessina winery is the work of Silvia Maestrelli who moved from Milan to Sicily in 2006. She fell in love with Etna and the wines there and began the hard work of becoming one of the first women to open a winery on the volcano. Being a pioneer wasn’t enough for Silvia, she also wanted to protect the history and culture of Mt. Etna, utilizing old vines, ancient techniques and crafting uniquely feminine wines from the vibrant, volcanic soils.
