Tasting Notes: The Fontanafredda Ebbio Nebbiolo has an uplifting bouquet, color, and generous, velvety body. With age the color becomes garnet-red with strong orange shades, and its nose deepens, with traces of withered flowers, such as roses and, above-all, geraniums. Its warm, soft, full flavor is velvety and well-balanced, lingering on the palate.
Estate History: Among the splendid rolling hills of the Langhe, in the heart of Piedmont, stands the beautiful Fontanafredda estate, which once belonged to King Vittorio Emanuele II who n turn gave it to Rosa Vercellana, a commoner with whom he had fallen madly in love. An ancient love story, kept alive by the modern Fontanafredda team, with particular attention to that desire to renew and improve that which has always distinguished the company, now a point of reference in the Langa area. Here, indeed the passion for wine, for the land and for tradition finds its most concrete expression.
