Tasting Notes: The Brigaldara Amarone della Valpolicella shows a bright red color. Clean red cherry and berry aromas are lifted by a floral touch. Sweet on entry with a nice glycerol mouthfeel, then somewhat bitter with noteworthy tannic bite to the lively red berry flavors. Finishes classically dry and with a trace of alcohol-derived heat.
Estate History: The name Brigaldara appears for the first time in a notary deed dated 1260. This name, for centuries, identified a villa, together with the farmhouses and the lands that surround it. In 1929, the Cesari family acquires the villa with the surrounding land. And starting in 1979, Brigaldara began to make its own wine instead of selling most of the grapes it harvested.
