Tasting Notes: Le Piane Vino Rosso is a medium-bodied wine with an elegant and refined character. It has a ruby red color and aromas of red and dark berries, spices, and earthy notes. On the palate, it is well-balanced with a silky texture, flavors of cherry and plum, and a long finish.
The wine is made from a blend of Nebbiolo and Croatina grapes, with small amounts of Vespolina and other indigenous varieties. The vineyards where the grapes are grown are located at high altitudes, up to 600 meters above sea level, and have unique terroir conditions, including volcanic soils. The winemaking process involves traditional techniques such as fermentation in open wooden vats, aging in large oak barrels, and bottle aging.
The wine is known for its aging potential and can be cellared for several years to develop additional complexity and depth. It is often considered one of the best wines from the Boca DOC region and a great example of the traditional winemaking style of Piedmont.
