Tasting Notes: Vigneti Costacurta's Ghemme is a 100% Nebbiolo wine from Alto Piemonte that elegantly showcases its distinctive fluvio-glacial soils. Founded by Guido Costacurta, the winery utilizes a special, locally rediscovered Nebbiolo clone known as "Cobianco" and prioritizes minimal intervention to express the terroir's unique character. After fermentation, the wine is aged for two years in large, untoasted French oak barrels, resulting in a complex and age-worthy red with refined tannins and a fresh, mineral-driven profile. It presents a bouquet of red and black berries, violet, and spice, with flavors of tart cherry and tobacco, culminating in a balanced, velvety, and persistent finish.
